Interim Avery County Manager

The County Manager serves as the Chief Executive Officer of County Government.
This position is appointed by and reports to the Avery County Board of Commissioners.
The responsibilities associated with the position include the overall administration of County Government, overseeing all County Departments, and the preparation of the annual budget. The County Manager implements the Commissioners’ goals and policies and provides for the professional management of County Government, ensuring the delivery of quality governmental services.
Other responsibilities include overseeing all county-related expenditures, coordinating intergovernmental agencies, acting as the County’s representative when dealing with other governmental units, administering franchises, establishing administrative policies
and procedures, implementing the County Personnel Policy and addressing employee complaints and grievances pursuant to the County Personnel Policy.
