Request for Proposals for FY 2019-2020 Avery County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council
The Avery County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) announces the availability
of $74,796 in intervention and prevention funds for services to delinquent youth and
those at risk of delinquency. JCPC funds require a local cash or in-kind match of 30%.
Funds are dependent upon appropriation by the NC Legislature. Based on the JCPC planning process conducted to date, the program services needed
in Avery County have been identified as the following:
- Restitution/Community Service
- Substance Abuse Treatment
- Parent and Family Skills
- Temporary Shelter
- Interpersonal Skills, Specifically Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)
Local public agencies, 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporations and local housing authorities
wishing to submit applications for programs that provide any of these services are
required to complete an application to the Avery County JCPC.
Programs not currently funded are required to attend a mandatory training; contact the Avery County JCPC chair via email at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information and to set up a training date.

Presentation of all applicants will be required at the March 19th, 2019 JCPC
Committee meeting at 9:00 a.m. Summary of current Risk and Needs assessments for
Avery County will be provided upon request.
