The Avery County Transportation
Department helps to provide safe, quality and low-cost transportation
to the citizens of Avery County. The Transportation Authority
provides transportation, not only within the County, but also
to the surrounding areas.
Free maps and schedules
are available at the Avery County Transportation office or
from any transportation driver.

1.) Who can ride the
vans?
Everybody. Seats are available to the
general public for a
small fee.
2.) How can I ride?
All routes are open to the general public.
Call ACT at (828)733-0005
before 8:00am if you wish to ride the van that day. (If you have special needs,
you
need to let ACT know when you call.)
3.) Can you give me a
ride to the doctor?
Yes. Before making your doctor’s
appointment,
call ACT at (828)733-0005. We will help you make your doctor’s appointment.
4.) May I smoke, eat
or drink on the van?
Sorry. For the safety and comfort or
everyone
riding on ACT vans, eating, drinking and smoking are not permitted.
5.) How much does it
cost to ride the ACT van?
